The Lalitā Sahasranāma is the most structurally sophisticated of the Hindu sahasranāma traditions. Composed by the eight Vāgdevīs within the narrative frame of the Brahmāṇḍa Purāṇa, it encodes a thousand names of the Divine Mother arranged along the nine enclosures of the Śrī Cakra. This commentary follows each āvaraṇa from the outermost wall to the innermost point. Sanskrit with IAST transliteration and English commentary.

Lieutenant Birendra Nath Mazumdar was the only Indian officer ever imprisoned in Colditz Castle — the fortress reserved for the most persistent escapers among Allied prisoners of war. Captured in France in 1940, he spent five years in captivity across seven camps, ending at Oflag IV-C, the castle on the rock. His story was erased from both British and Indian records. This novel recovers it.
